First Tori Sinclair's predecessor-- who wasn't keen on retiring in the first place-- indicates that she's going to make some wonderful changes when she substitutes at the library so Tori can help a friend in the hospital. Then Tori nearly flatlines herself when she watches a woman go into cardiac arrest at the hospital. The woman is Vera, her philandering ex-fiance, Jeff's, great-aunt.
