Library Services

The Amherst County Public Library strives to provide the most popular new titles as soon as they are available. Between the two libraries there are approximately 100,000 items in the permanent collection. In addition to print resources, the library offers audio books, music CDs, DVDs, children’s sound recordings, and periodicals.

The library collections include both fiction and nonfiction, large print, and reference resources for all ages.

The Amherst County Public Library offers many services to patrons online. Browse our site to reserve items, check your account, access numerous reference tools containing articles, pamphlets, and other information, and practice academic and professional tests.

The library offers access to the Internet, children’s games, Microsoft Office products, and other resources on computers at each library. Printers are available for printing. For more information, see our Computer/Internet Acceptable Use policy.
